About Us

Since the founding of Gamma Chi on April 3, 1948, Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. has supplied voice and vision to the struggle of African Americans Students and people of color on Pittsburg State University Campus. The founders of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. (Gamma Chi) were no ordinary achievers. Given racial attitudes in 1948,their accomplishments were monumental.

To promote a more perfect union among college men; to aid in and insist upon the personal progress of its members; to further brotherly love and a fraternal spirit within the organization; to discountenance evil; to destroy all prejudices; to preserve the sanctity of the home, the personification of virtue and the chastity of woman.
